Book Overview

No Dinosaurs Allowed is a story of friendship and acceptance.

Bobby tries to take his friend Teddy the Dinosaur to a party, the library, and the zoo, unfortunately, dinosaurs are not welcome. Finally, they go to the park but there are no swings or slides and only one little boy. But Teddy saves the day by allowing the little boy and Bobby to use him as a swing and slide.

Eventually, a group of children joins them. On the way home, the zookeeper invites them to come back the next day because the zoo animals want to meet Teddy, and the librarian has moved storytime to a larger room so now Teddy can fit, and then the birthday party mommy invites them into the backyard for cake.

This picture book is 398 words and is perfect for boys and girls ages 4-8.

About The Illustrator

Ashleigh Heyns lives in the beautiful African country of Zimbabwe with her husband and three quite big children, two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and three tom cats. She was raised in a big, busy family and spent most of her childhood holidays traveling and camping in a caravan.

Children, animals and books are on the top of her list of favourite things followed closely by chocolate and coincidences. Ashleigh qualified and worked as a nursery school teacher for sixteen years and now works as a school librarian, surrounded by children and books.

As a child, Ashleigh’s art equipment consisted of the un-used pages of ‘last years’ schoolbooks, old crayons and homemade glue. Any opportunity to paint was a real treat which is why Ashleigh thinks she loves it so much – it’s also a great way to be creative and tell stories.

Ever since Ashleigh was a small child, she’s been writing and illustrating stories. Being chosen to illustrate stories for other authors is a dream come true.
